My name is Natalia Zavhorodnia and I'm an English teacher based in Ukraine. I've been training future teachers of English in primary school since 2009. In 2015 I got interested in the blended learning approach and since then I've been working on developing my learners to acquire digital skills needed in the workplace such as creating digital content, using tools and techniques for working collaboratively and managing digital information. As a part of my CPD I took several online courses devoted to this approach:
Learning in the Network Age (University of Southampton) November 2017This blog reflects my teaching journey in the blended learning direction. Go to the label "Blended Learning Lab" and see examples of using various online services, tools and social media in teaching English such as Quizlet, Liveworksheets, Lino, BBC Learning English, MOOCs, Google Sites, Google Documents, Twitter etc. The label "YouTube Guide for English Learners" contains watching suggestions on particular topics with language commentary.
The primary aim of the blog was to provide a guidance through the language learning resources available online thus the page "English Online" was created.
Some labels and pages will be of use for primary schools teachers and students of the pedagogical college:
Being a lecturer of the English Children's Literature Course I provide the information for my students through this blog as well. See the page "English Literature" for lectures and interesting tasks.
In the spring of 2020 this blog was of great help in my teaching serving as an online platform during the transitional period from offline to distance learning. I still keep most of those activities available - you can look them up on the page "Distance Learning".
